Read Your US Mail Online

Every letter that reaches your US mailbox shows up in your account as a photo of its envelope. When one matters, ask us to open and scan it and read the PDF from anywhere. The rest you forward, store or shred.

The envelope first, the contents on request

You see the outside of every letter. Nothing gets opened unless you ask, so you only scan what's worth reading.

Every item, photographed outside

When a letter arrives at your address, we log it and put a photo of the envelope in your account. The sender and the addressee are usually enough to tell a bank letter from junk.

Opened and scanned when you ask

Choose Open & scan and our staff open the envelope and scan the pages. The PDF goes to your secure account, where you can read and download it.

Then forward, store or shred

Read the scan, then decide what happens to the paper. Mail forwarding ships the original to you. Storing keeps it with us, and shredding destroys it.

Checks to your US bank

On plans that include check deposits, a check that arrives in your mailbox can go into your US bank account, so you don't have to forward it abroad. Our plan list includes it on Mailbox Volume and Mailbox Advanced.

How a scan request works

Four steps from the mail center to your screen. You act in one of them.

  1. 1.

    Mail arrives at your address

Letters come to your US street address with your PMB number. Every recipient needs a USPS Form 1583 on file first. See the mailbox setup.

  2. 2.

    We photograph the envelope

The item is logged in your account with a photo of its outside, and you're notified that something arrived.

  3. 3.

    You choose Open & scan

Only for the items you pick. Everything else stays sealed until you forward, store or shred it.

  4. 4.

    Read the PDF, then decide

Your scan lands in your account. Keep the paper, have it shipped to you, or have it shredded.

Scans

How many open-and-scan requests and pages a plan includes, and the price of extra ones, are set per plan. Check the plan details before you order.

Storage

Letters and packages you keep with us follow your plan's storage limits and fees. Scan what you need and shred the rest to keep storage low.

Forwarding

Forwarding follows your plan's fees, and postage and carrier charges are yours once an item ships.

Who gets to see your mail

Scanning is about reading your mail from abroad without handing it to more people than necessary.

Sealed until you ask

We photograph the outside of each item. The contents are only opened and scanned when you request it.

Scans stay in your account

PDFs are uploaded to your secure account, where you read and download them. Shred the paper when you no longer need it.

Only the people you add

Each plan sets how many recipients can receive mail and how many users can sign in. The table above lists both.

USPS rules apply

USPS requires a signed Form 1583 and two IDs for each recipient before we can accept mail. The virtual mailbox page explains the setup.

Mail scanning FAQs

What gets scanned, what it costs, how fast it happens and what happens to the paper.

No. Every item gets a photo of its envelope in your account. We only open a letter and scan its contents when you choose Open & scan for that item.

Scanning follows the limits and fees of your plan: how many scan requests and pages are included, and what extra ones cost. Check the plan details on the pricing page before you order.

It depends on the plan. Our plan list shows under 48 hours on Address Only, priority processing on Mailbox Volume and Verified Business Address, and same-day with a 4-hour SLA on Mailbox Advanced. These are targets, not guarantees.

You decide. Forward the original to any address, keep it stored with us under your plan's storage terms, or have it shredded.

The users on your account. Each plan sets how many recipients can receive mail at the address and how many users can sign in, from 1 user on Address Only to 6 on Mailbox Advanced and Verified Business Address.

A mailbox is a PMB at a commercial mail receiving agency, and many banks and platforms don't accept one as proof of where a business operates. For that, we offer a lease-backed proof-of-address service.
