Registate

US Business Setup for Agencies Serving Global Clients

Your clients see one side of your agency: the company that signs the contract and sends the invoice. Your team sees the other: the mail, the accounts and the filing dates. Registate sets up the US company, the EIN support, the address and the registered agent behind both.

What US clients ask an agency for, and who covers it

Before a US client signs with you or pays your first invoice, they check a short list. Here's which parts Registate sets up and which stay with you.

Run the US side as a team

An agency is more than one person. These are the parts of the setup more than one of you will touch.

Mail access for more than one person

Each mailbox plan sets how many recipients can get mail at the address and how many users can sign in. USPS needs a Form 1583 for every recipient. See the Form 1583 guide.

One address on every client document

Contracts, invoices, proposals and your website carry the same US street address, not a team member's home. Compare address types.

Documents for bank and payment checks

Banks and platforms check your company, EIN and address. Read the rules for Mercury, Wise, Stripe and Payoneer. None of us can promise approval.

Filing dates that don't depend on one inbox

The registered agent receives legal notices for the company, and compliance reminders flag the state dates before they're due.

W-9 or W-8: what a US client will ask for

Most US clients ask for a tax form before the first payment. Which one depends on who owns your agency's company and how it's taxed, not on where the client is.

W-9

Your US company is a partnership or a corporation

A multi-member LLC taxed as a partnership, or a C-Corp, is a US person for these forms, whoever owns it. It usually gives the client a W-9.

W-8BEN

One non-US individual owns the LLC

A single-member LLC is usually disregarded, so the IRS looks through it to the owner. A non-US individual owner gives a W-8BEN in their own name, not a W-9.

W-8BEN-E

A non-US company owns the LLC

If a foreign company owns a disregarded LLC, that owner company is the beneficial owner and generally gives a W-8BEN-E.

About 1099s. US clients generally report payments to US persons who gave them a W-9 on Form 1099-NEC. Payments to foreign persons follow different rules. This is general information, not tax advice: talk to a tax professional before you sign a form, and see our guide to foreign-owned LLC taxes.

Agency FAQs

Entity choice, team mail, tax forms, addresses and accounts for agencies with US clients.

Many service agencies start with an LLC because it's simpler to run. A C-Corp fits better if you plan to raise investment or issue shares. Registate forms both, and neither needs an SSN. The right choice also depends on taxes where you and your partners live, so check it with a tax professional. Our LLC vs C-Corp comparison walks through the differences.

Yes, within your plan's limits. On business mailbox plans: Address Only 1 recipient, 1 user; Mailbox Volume 3 recipients, 3 users; Mailbox Advanced 2 recipients, 6 users; Verified Business Address 1 tenant + 6 users. USPS requires a signed Form 1583 and two forms of ID for each recipient before mail can be accepted for them.

It depends on who owns the company and how it's taxed. A US LLC taxed as a partnership, or a C-Corp, usually gives a W-9. A single-member LLC owned by a non-US individual is usually disregarded, so the owner gives a W-8BEN. If a foreign company owns the LLC, that company generally gives a W-8BEN-E. This is general information from the IRS instructions, not tax advice. Talk to a tax professional before you sign.

Yes. Use the business address exactly as issued, including the suite, PMB or member number. The registered agent address is different: it's for legal notices from the state and courts, and shouldn't be used as your business address.

It lets you apply as a US company with an EIN, a US address and company documents, which is what banks and payment platforms review. Many of them don't accept a mailbox or registered agent address as an operating address, which is why a lease-backed address exists. The decision is always the provider's, and no one can guarantee approval.

No. Registate forms the company, supports the EIN application, provides the registered agent, the business address and mailbox, and compliance reminders. Mailbox access follows your plan's recipient and user limits. Contracts belong with a lawyer, and invoicing with the accounting tools you already use.
