I live outside the US and I freelance.
Bill US clients as a US company: an LLC, its EIN and an address payment platforms can check.
Each guide is written for one way of working, with the documents, addresses and pitfalls that come with it. Cards marked for you match the situation you picked above.
Every guide above is built from the same six services. If you already know the job, go straight to it.
An LLC or a C-Corp, filed with the state, with a registered agent in every formation plan. State fees are separate.
Applying to the IRS is free. We prepare and submit Form SS-4 for you, with no SSN or ITIN needed.
A real US street address backed by a commercial lease and a utility bill in your company's name.
Mail received at a US address, then scanned, forwarded or stored as you choose. USPS Form 1583 signed online.

What banks, Stripe and Payoneer ask a US company for. We help you prepare; they make the decision.
Most questions in the guides come back to this. Put each address where it belongs and the rest gets easier.
A mailbox address is a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency (CMRA) address. USPS needs a signed Form 1583 and two IDs before mail is received for you, and automated checks can see the CMRA flag. The lease address includes mailbox services, so one address can do both jobs. Banks and platforms make their own decisions. Which guide to read, where you need to live, and what a US address does and doesn't do.
The one closest to how you earn or live. Pick where you live and what you do at the top of this page and it suggests one or two. If two fit, such as selling online while traveling, read both: they share the same services and point to each other.
No. Everything is done online and you don't need an SSN. We form LLCs and C-Corps for owners anywhere, and a foreign passport is accepted as the photo ID on USPS Form 1583 for your mailbox.
Not for a mailbox: travelers and people who want a private mailing address use one on its own. The lease-backed business address is issued in your company's name, so it comes after your company is formed.
No, and no one can. Banks, payment platforms and marketplaces make their own decisions. What we make sure of is that you apply with a real US company, an EIN and documents that show the same name and address.
Applying to the IRS for an EIN is free. If you add EIN support, you pay Registate to prepare and submit Form SS-4 for you, with no SSN or ITIN needed. Processing times vary; the IRS sets them.
No. A business address belongs to your company, not to you. Your tax residency depends on where you live and the rules of the countries involved. A foreign-owned US LLC has its own US filings, so talk to a tax professional about your situation.
