EIN support

Your LLC needs an EIN for banking and taxes. The IRS doesn't charge for it. Our help is paid preparation support, and without an SSN the IRS takes it by fax or mail.

What comes back every year

An LLC isn't a one-time purchase. Three things recur, and they're billed by different people on different dates.

  • Formation package

Renews every year. Your registered agent is part of it.

  • Address, mailbox or virtual office

Only if you add one. Renews monthly or yearly, as you chose.

  • The state's annual fees

Owed to the state, not to us, on the state's own dates. See the table.

Is an LLC the right fit?

An LLC is a common choice for solo founders and small teams. Many investors prefer a C-Corp, so if you plan to raise money, look at one too.

LLC formation FAQs

Fees, renewals, EINs and what an LLC can and can't do for you.

No. The state filing fee is set by the state and paid to it. Checkout adds it as its own line next to the package price, so you see both before you pay.

Three things can recur: your formation package, which renews yearly and includes your registered agent; any address or mailbox plan you added; and the state's own annual report or tax, paid to the state on its dates. Wyoming's minimum is $60 a year, Delaware's LLC tax is $400 and California's is $800.

No. You can form the LLC without an SSN. For the EIN, owners without an SSN or ITIN can't use the IRS online form, so the application goes to the IRS by fax or mail. We prepare it for you.

Yes, the IRS doesn't charge for an EIN. Our EIN help is paid preparation support, included in some packages and an add-on in others. See the pricing page for the current price.

Processing times vary; the state and the IRS set them. We file once your order is complete. For example, Wyoming says paper filings take up to 15 business days, and the IRS says faxed EIN applications are generally processed within 4 business days.

Not on its own, and no provider can guarantee one. Each bank and payment platform decides. We give you the documents they usually ask for: your formation documents, your EIN letter and, if you add it, proof of a US business address.
